New Home Sales Increase In November

CNNMoney.com reports an increase in new home sales in November. While not near the record breaking pace of 2005, November sales were 7 percent higher than in July, the lowest month for sales year-to-date.

Tax Deduction Created For Mortgage Insurance

Mortgage insurance is one of those fees that borrowers hate, but lenders love. to a borrower, it is throwing money down the drain. The a lender, it is minimizing his risk. The insurance is charged on private and government home loans if the down payment is less than 20 percent. Interest Rates Decline For Fifth Week

FreddieMac.com reports long term interest rates declined this week for the fifth consecutive week. The average rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage is 6.14 percent for the week ending Nov. 30. Down from 6.18 percent last week.
